There’s a reason I always get chai whenever I go anywhere: it’s a safe choice. But there should always be a little bit of adventure involved, some drama that keeps you drinking. This chai has neither. It’s sweet, has lots of milk, and fills the part of your heart that can only be filled by chai, but it doesn’t push your boundaries. This is a chai you could be friends with and know that neither of you want anything more. Plus, this chai just works as a friend. It’s comfortable to be with, but lacks the spark you need to really be anything more. You could have a really good conversation with this chai and know that it’s listening because it cares about you and it’s not just trying to check all the right boxes to get into your pants. Sure, you feel a little jealous when you see it with someone else, but don’t all friends get a little jealous? Heck, you get a little jealous when you see someone with coffee, and you don’t even like coffee! But yeah, this works as a friendship. Really, you’re sure.
